Cookie Policy
What this site stores in your browser, and what it refuses to store.
Who sets cookies
BrightMint Agency LTD operates brightmintagency.com. First-party storage described here is set by this domain, not by Color Line AS and not by Paf.
Third-party cookies from Color Line, a booking engine or an advertising network appear only if you leave this site and visit those domains. This policy cannot control what they set after you click away.
Google Fonts and the GSAP files served from a public CDN may allow those networks to see your IP address as part of delivering the files. That is a consequence of loading the design, not a Color Line booking cookie.
We do not operate a tag manager that injects casino “free spin” pixels. If a future version of this page names a new third party, the banner will have to ask again before that party runs.
Strictly necessary storage
After you confirm you are 18 or older we set localStorage key bm-age to the value 18 so the overlay does not repeat on every internal click.
This storage is necessary to keep an 18+ warning in front of casino copy without blocking the rest of the guide on every page load once you have confirmed.
The flag is a yes/no memory on your device. It does not prove identity, does not travel with you to Color Line’s terminal, and is not sent to Paf.
If you refuse to pass the gate, casino-related pages remain behind the overlay. That is a publication control, not a gambling licence check.
Cookie-banner storage
bm-cookie is set to all or necessary when you choose Accept or Necessary only. That choice is stored locally so the bar does not loop on every page.
“Necessary only” means we do not load optional analytics. “Accept” means we may load the analytics described below.
Clearing site data for brightmintagency.com deletes the flag. The banner will appear again. That is how you change your mind without writing to us.
The banner is not a Color Line cookie consent tool. Color Line and Google will show their own notices if you open their properties.
Optional analytics
If you accept, we may use a privacy-respecting analytics tag to count page views, approximate region and device type, so we can see whether the guide is readable.
If you refuse, we do not load optional analytics. The pages still work. Animations and forms do not depend on that tag.
We do not run advertising pixels on this informational guide unless a future revision of this policy says otherwise — and even then we would ask again on the banner.
Analytics, if enabled, is not used to retarget you with cabin discounts or casino bonuses. This publisher does not sell ads against your Oslo–Kiel interest.
What we do not use
We do not drop casino “free spin” trackers, hotel retargeting from this domain, or fingerprinting scripts for gambling offers.
We do not store your Color Line booking number. That number belongs on Color Line’s site. If you paste it into a form, treat that as an inquiry field under the Privacy Policy, not as a cookie.
We do not sync your age-gate click with Paf, Norsk Tipping, or any other gaming brand.
We do not use canvas fingerprinting, audio fingerprinting or a hidden unique ID beyond the two localStorage keys named on this page.
Duration
localStorage flags persist until you clear site data for this origin. They do not have a server-side expiry we control.
Session cookies, if any are added later solely for security (for example a short CSRF token on a form), die when the browser session ends. We will name them here if they appear.
CDN caches and browser caches of CSS, JS and images are ordinary web caches, not consent cookies. They expire according to your browser and the file’s cache headers.
Server logs of requests are rotated on a short cycle as described in the Privacy Policy. They are not the same as bm-age or bm-cookie.
Legal basis
Necessary storage (age gate and banner memory): legitimate interests and, where the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations allow, the strictly necessary exemption.
Optional analytics: consent. No consent means no optional analytics tag.
Loading Google Fonts or GSAP from a CDN is part of delivering the page you requested. If you block third-party requests, the layout may fall back to system fonts and motion may be reduced.
You may object to necessary storage by leaving the site or by using a browser that refuses localStorage. We cannot publish the 18+ warning as required editorial practice if the flag cannot be stored, so the overlay may return.
How to control
Use the banner once. Later, clear cookies and site data for brightmintagency.com in your browser settings, or use a private window.
Desktop browsers expose site data under settings for cookies and local storage. iOS and Android have tracking and site-data controls of their own.
Add-ons that block third-party requests can stop Google Fonts, jsDelivr and Google Maps. That is your choice. The guide remains readable as HTML even if the map iframe is blank.
Do not ask Color Line’s call centre to reset a BrightMint cookie. They cannot see it. Write to dorothyda@brightmintagency.org if the banner itself is broken.
Age overlay versus operator ID
Remembering that you clicked 18+ is not a substitute for Color Line’s or Paf’s identity check at the casino door.
The overlay exists because this guide discusses games of chance. It is a website control, not a passport scan.
Nightclubs Tower and Palazzo have a 20-year age limit published by Color Line. Our overlay does not encode that 20+ rule. The ship’s door staff do.
If a minor clicks through despite the overlay, that click is not permission to gamble. Color Line’s and Norwegian rules still apply at sea.
Embedded maps
The Location page embeds Google Maps so you can see Filipstadveien 2, 0250 Oslo and Norwegenkai, 24143 Kiel without leaving the article.
Google may set cookies and collect IP and location-related data according to Google’s own policy when that iframe loads. We do not control Google’s storage.
If you refuse third-party content, use the “open in Google Maps” buttons instead of the embed. Those buttons still take you to Google, but only after you choose to go.
Map coordinates we publish are Color Line’s terminal facts. A cookie Google sets is not a confirmation that you will stand on that quay at 14:00.
CDN scripts
GSAP from jsDelivr animates section reveals. Google Fonts loads Outfit, Syne and BBH Bartle. Those requests are for typesetting and motion, not for booking.
jsDelivr and Google may log the request. Read their notices if you need to know how long those logs last.
If you prefer reduced motion, the site respects prefers-reduced-motion. Blocking the GSAP file is another way to skip animation; content remains in the HTML.
We do not load social-network pixels, casino chat widgets, or live-dealer streams on this domain.
Changes to this policy
If we add a new optional cookie, the banner will need a fresh choice or this page will describe the new name, purpose and duration first.
Renaming bm-age or bm-cookie is a material change. We will not silently reuse an old key for a new purpose.
A change of font host or animation CDN will be described here if it adds a new third party that can see your IP.
Editorial updates to hotel copy do not, by themselves, change this Cookie Policy.
Processors
Hosting providers process HTTP requests, including the URL of the page, your IP and user-agent, in order to serve files and stop abuse.
They are not allowed to use our editorial inbox as a marketing list or to sell cabin upsells.
Email infrastructure that delivers a reply from dorothyda@brightmintagency.org is a processor of the message, not a Color Line booking desk.
Ask the editorial inbox if you want the current host named. We will not hide a processor whose job is to see server logs.
Your rights
Consent for optional analytics can be withdrawn by clearing storage and reloading, then choosing Necessary only.
Other data-rights — access, deletion, objection — sit in the Privacy Policy and apply to form mail and logs, not only to cookies.
You may complain to the ICO about cookie practices of this publisher. Complaints about Color Line’s own site belong with Color Line and, where relevant, Datatilsynet.
A request that we “delete my Color Line booking cookie” is misplaced. We never held that cookie. Clear it on colorline.com instead.
Contact
Cookie questions: dorothyda@brightmintagency.org, BrightMint Agency LTD, 123 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 9SH, United Kingdom.
State whether the banner failed, whether you want analytics off, or whether you believe a third-party script appeared that this page does not name.
We cannot reset storage on your phone from London. Clearing site data is a local action.
Color Line’s booking telephone (+47 22 94 42 00) is not a cookie helpdesk for this domain.
